“ Love a quick stop at The Plant Cafe Organic in Terminal 2 D for a healthy preflight boost. For airport food, it's good. The counter is simple and organized well. They have freshly made-to-order juices and smoothies, pre-made meals, and other menu items you can order if you have time to wait. I love their baked goods as well. Usually there's something vegan or gluten-free. Their banana bread is killer. I usually get a fresh juice to sip and the pre-packaged tofu wrap for flight. Prices are a bit high, but so is everything else at the airport. I rather eat something heathy to hold me over. Service is patient, the kitchen pushes orders quickly, and I'm always happy with the decisions. ”
“ Reasonably priced place for breakfast in SFO Terminal 2. $9.95 egg and cheese panini was delicious and not too expensive. Can eat half of it early and the other half later, still tastes good even if not hot. Was on a nonstop flight 5-6hrs long and didn't plan on paying for food onboard, so this was a good solution. ”
“ $ 11.50 egg(2), spinach, cheese, tomato on wheat. Cooked fresh to order. Best value and great quality - hands down. Other places were charging 140-160% more for non-organic & pre-made stuff with the same ingredients. This is the spot for terminal 2. Easy ordering. Attentive staff. Remember it's cooked to order so if there's a line, it will take a bit longer. I got a peek behind the curtain into the kitchen. There's 4 burners but only room for 1 cook. Again - 4 stars only for the airport. ”
“ Well this is in San Francisco airport around D gate. Super fresh food and fast service. I would highly recommend having their California Burger - it was so good !! ”
“ Dining method: Takeout (that's the only option at this counter serve spot) Speed: Super fast Items ordered: Thai Tofu Wrap The short answer: When in need (and when you're a plant-based eater), The Plant Cafe very likely will be your best option at SFO. It may be kind of bland, but it seems quite fresh and clean. At least the most important things are there! The long answer: We got the tofu wraps. Full of fresh veggies, with an underwhelming-in-flavor peanut sauce, it did its job and filled me up! The Plant Cafe doesn't really have an ambiance because it's in the airport. The service was fast and that's what matters most when you're traveling! ”
“ Food at the airport is getting better (also more expensive) over the last couple of years. So having a plant-based alternative made sense. And as a flexitarian, I thought I will give it a try. They make their patty and do not go with the flow to use imitation meat. As much as I enjoy a beyond or an impossible one to only make the major ones - I dislike that a lot of places replace their veggie Pattie with a meat alternative. If somebody is vegetarian or vegan he might simply don't wanna taste the meat. So I highly recommend restaurant owners and chefs to offer both - you will be surprised that you might sell more even when you would have an extra item on the menu. That said the PLANT burger here is a patty made in-house from lentils, mushrooms, beets, cashews & bulgur wheat. So you need to like lentils and beets then this is also the flavor profile they are going with. I do not like mushrooms but they are not adding much to the taste and are mostly a form of binder. Since it's vegan it can't use eggs. But honestly, this burger would benefit from an egg. The patty is very crumbly and that's the reason for my two recommendations: - grab a fork you will need it for the salad anyway - it's not a great food to take ON the airplane Other than that the taste: since I ordered the California burger it was topped with grilled onions lettuce tomato vegan mayo, house-made vegan cheese, and avocado. Overall it was a tasty one - the crumbly part made it a bit dry and I wish they would have put on more of the vegan mayo to make it a bit more come together. First I was not sure if they not have forgotten to put the "cheese" on it but they are just shy portion-wise. So you don't get cheese on every byte. It is a good burger in general. the patty is generous in size but the whole burger would benefit from more of the other parts (everything like onions and avocado was also very shy in appearance) in a bigger amount. Conclusion for $16 you get a fair veggie/ vegan burger that would benefit from some receipt tweets. One star goes away for the service not being up to par with their products (i did not read that the burger already comes with onions and I asked the service if they can add onions. Her reaction where thinking for a couple of second and then answering no we don't have onions, well I was happy that the burger comes already with grilled onions even when it was only two stripes of it) and for not being a perfect burger - and it could be with those tweaks. We expect to pay a little bit higher prices at the airport so add $1 and double the number of tomatoes, onions, cheese, and mayo. (Btw in Portland's PDX airport there is an ordinance in place that local shops are not allowed to have different (higher) prices than in their city location, a great idea for other places to stop overcharging of people that have no other place to buy it) ”
